Rough Day

Well the morning started at 5:30AM when Melayna said she was ready to get up.  I was able to talk her into going back to sleep in my twin bed, but of course I did not sleep at all once she was there.  She coughed all night too, so I think she did not sleep well which made for a very needy day.  She asked for big girl underwear so I packed a lot of clothes and decided to give it a try.  She did pee in the pot several times, but also twice in her pants and pooped three times in her pants.  I don't think all the beans we ate yesterday helped with potty training.  It seemed every time she pooped in her pants all the kids came into the bathroom to wash their hands for a meal at the same time which made for a lot of staring kids asking why she pooped in her pants.  There is also no good way to change her at the daycare so we stood in the stall as I cleaned her, the floor and the toilet seat off and then changed her clothes while trying not to get anything else wet or dirty in the bathroom.  It was a difficult feat, but we did it.  Then at play time Lucas and a little boy fought over a soccer ball and Lucas ended up in his first playground tussle and of course it ended in tears on Lucas' part. He was not hurt, but he just doesn't like to play as rough as they do so his feelings were really hurt.  He is my sensitive soul.  So after a lot of tears and needing to hold Melayna most of the day, I was glad to get home.  Lucas did school work and then he and I passed the soccer ball while Melayna slept.  She woke up from her nap still tired so she fussed for a while and did not want to eat dinner.  The last hour before bed, she was great so we talked to the Weckessers and read books and then the kids went to bed.  Let's hope for a better day tomorrow especially since today ended well.

On a positive note, I was asked directions today and I knew where to tell them to go and how to say it in Spanish! Go me!
