Loved Ones

Today while walking home from work, I saw a funeral ending at the church on the top of the hill.  Hundreds and hundreds of people poured out of the church behind the casket and processed around the church square behind the body being carried to the car.  It made me think about losing a loved one and how many people show up to say goodbye to that person.  If only our loved ones knew how many people loved them when they were alive.  No one has a chance to see the masses of people that show up to say goodbye to them after they die.  It would be really awesome if we could experience that love while we are alive.  It also makes me want to remember to tell my loved ones how much they are loved and show them my love while I can.  Make that trip to see a friend I miss, call someone I am thinking about, do something nice for someone or just spend time with someone who needs a friend.  It is not too late to reconnect until that person is gone.  Most people reading this know my family lost my grandfather recently.  I know for sure in his last weeks before he passed that he felt the love of his family as they traveled to see him and spend a few days.  I am so glad I decided to go to the family reunion this year, because if I had not, I would not have seen my grandfather before he passed away.  I wish I could have gone more, but I am not going to reflect on that and instead I am going to be grateful that I got to see him in the summer.  We all miss him dearly.  So if I have any advice today, it is go see your loved ones and let them know you love them because we never know how long we have to show our love.
