Lucas Has a Friend

Lucas is truly addicted to soccer!  It is not a complete day if he has not at least kicked a ball for ten minutes.  Today he went to the park with Matt and Melayna and played for a long time and then I took him back to the park after work to play soccer for another hour.  When we got back from the park we ran into our host family's niece and nephew and they asked us to play soccer with them.  Then after we played soccer, they asked Lucas to watch a movie with them.  He was so excited!  His two favorite things are soccer and movies and tonight he got to do both.  They also suggested that we come over sometime and swim in their pool.  Again he was ecstatic.  I am really glad he has a friend here at the house now too.  Hopefully they will continue to ask him to play.  He is also getting excited to go watch a soccer game here because Matt is planning to take him to a game soon.  I am excited too to see him play soccer on a team again because I think he will now get into the action and actually kick the ball.  His coaches will not think it is the same kid.  It is amazing how he has grown up and changed since we arrived here.  It just shows you how much our experiences influence us.  I have said it before, but by far the thing I have learned most being here is to slow down and enjoy this time as a family because we will not have an experience like this again.  I am so thankful for our time together and look forward to making more memories.
